The journey into motherhood is a joyous and anxious time.  Your “pregnancy brain” gives way to the “baby brain”, and you find yourself wondering where your time has gone, conversations revolve around how much sleep you had last night and you find yourself always rushing around, very happy one minute then emotional the next.

Your body still feels like it doesn’t belong to you and exhaustion makes it hard to concentrate.  The simplest of tasks drain your energy and some days you wonder if you will ever get to enjoy a hot cup oftea.

Coming to terms with this little person in your life can be an emotional ride.

Through yoga practice the new relationship between mother and baby can bond, blossom and grow and also gives you the opportunity to meet other new mums to share your experience with.
Yoga postures whilst holding your baby strengthen and tone your body, helping to reduce back pain and neck and shoulder tension and specific post natal techniques help to regain your pelvic floor and abdominal strength.

Breathing and relaxation techniques help you to let go of anxiety and stress and improve your energy levels.

Yoga practice is beneficial for your baby too, as the gentle massage and stretching techniques help to soothe your baby, helping to heal birth trauma whilst promoting a healthy sleep pattern and above all, a calm and relaxed mummy encourages a calm and relaxed baby.
